Biography

Ted Aub, PortraitA. E. Ted Aub (b.1955), Professor of Art and Architecture, and internationally recognized sculptor hails from Cincinnati Ohio, but has lived in Geneva, NY since coming to Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1981. Aub holds a BFA in painting from Washington University in St. Louis, and an MFA in sculpture from Brooklyn College, in NY. Following his undergraduate degree, Aub attended the Brooklyn Museum Art School as a Max Beckmann Scholar (1977-79,) and after, traveled to Europe for a year of artistic exploration and to study marble carving in the Tuscan town of Pietrasanta, Italy. In addition to teaching sculpture and design at Hobart and William Smith Colleges for the past three decades, he has exhibited his work widely, and has been awarded numerous public sculpture commissions in the United States, Korea, and China.
