Public Commissions are an important aspect of my artistic endeavors. Among commissioned works have been historic monuments that pay homage to the Women’s Rights Movement. In pieces such as these I have sought ways to incorporate messages and symbolism without over sentimentalizing the subject matter, though a certain level of romanticization I find appropriate. I seek creative ways to draw viewers into the process of looking and participating in the meaning of a work by making history most relevant. The cast bronze works have a traditional appeal, but are also a product of our time.
